Polynest is a combination of vitamins endowed with a particular hepato-protective activity in an optimal ratio so as to obtain the maximum therapeutic synergy. It also acts at the level of bone marrow to stimulate erythropoiesis.

Vitamin B12 has a complex biological activity and takes part in protein synthesis particularly in neuronal and hepatic tissues.
Folic acid, besides being a hematinic factor, has a hepatic protective action. Whereas Niacinamide is known as enzymatic activator of biochemical cell processes. Vitamin C which is contained in a separate ampoule, when mixed with vitamin B12, Folic acid and Niacinamide, has a unique activity in the metabolic cycle which is necessary to the cellular structure.

Depending on the level and type of anemia, Polynest injection is indicated for the following conditions:
Mild Anemia
Moderate Anemia
Post blood profusion maintenance of hemoglobin
Chronic or Severe anemia.

Pharmacokinetics:

Absorption: Polynest injection, when given intramuscularly, achieves a plasma peak level in an hour while an intravenous infusion over 2 hours achieves a plasma peak in less than 30 minutes. Detectable concentrations occur as long as 48 hours after injection.

Distribution: Polynest injection is well distributed in all body tissues. Both direct and indirect evidence suggest that over 66% are distributed in bone tissues while the rest 34% are found in non bony tissues of the body. High bone concentrations occur in active bone marrow while non bony tissues concentration increases relatively in active growth as in wounds, trauma, lactation etc.

The concentrations of Polynest injection are higher in bony tissues (up to 75%). Higher concentrations also occur in soft injuries – open or closed wounds
